India, July 12 -- A cafe owned by comedian-actor Kapil Sharma in Surrey, British Columbia, was targeted in a shooting early Thursday morning. Several bullets were fired at Kap's Cafe, shattering a glass window while staff were reportedly still inside. No injuries were reported. The incident occurred around 1.50am at the cafe located in a residential-commercial complex along the Surrey-Delta border, a popular hub for Indian-origin residents. Police patrol vehicles remained stationed at the scene for much of the day as the investigation continued. Unverified CCTV footage appearing to show a man firing at the cafe has gone viral on social media. Also circulating online were posts allegedly claiming responsibility, attributed to individuals linked with the proscribed terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), known to be active in parts of Canada. The posts, written in English and Punjabi, referenced a past episode of The Kapil Sharma Show that allegedly featured jokes about the Nihang community, which the posters claimed had hurt religious sentiments. But authorities have not yet verified the authenticity of the posts or the motive. Police said they are examining links to other similar incidents in the region, many of which have been tied to extortion rackets run by organised crime networks. Kapil has not issued a statement till the time of going to press. HTC...
