Mohali, Dec. 16 -- A 30-year-old kabaddi player and event promoter died on Monday evening, shortly after he was shot during a tournament in Mohali, police said. SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said the incident took place around 5.30 pm, when Kanwar Digvijay Singh, popularly known as Rana Balachauria, was about to enter the field. "They came close him on the pretext of taking selfies and opened fire. Only the promoter was hit by bullets. When people tried to chase the attackers, they fired two to three more rounds...," he said. Singh was later rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. The Davinder Bambiha gang claimed responsibility for the attack via a social media post, terming it retribution for sheltering killers of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. SEE HT CHANDIGARH...
