Chandigarh, June 3 -- The city rang in June with an overnight storm, accompanied by rain, lightning and gusty winds, which brought the mercury down. While only trace rain was recorded overnight on the first day of the month, the maximum temperature fell from 40.1degC on Sunday to 37degC on Monday, 2.2 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature, meanwhile, rose from 22.4degC on Sunday to 22.4degC on Monday, still 1.9 degree below normal. Due to an active Western Disturbance (WD), stormy conditions started on Monday night as well, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more rain on Tuesday. As per IMD officials, the system will be strongest on Tuesday. Thus, there is a high likelihood of light to moderate rain, along with gusty winds up to 50 km per hour. The sky will continue to remain cloudy on Wednesday before clear skies return from Thursday onwards. Due to the rainy weather, over the next three days, the maximum temperature is expected to remain a relatively cool 33degC to 35degC....
