Srinagar, Dec. 30 -- Owing to security reasons, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday imposed restrictions on trekking in Tangmarg forest areas which is close to famous ski resort Gulmarg. The forest area has received good snowfall and many trekkers have started snow trekking in the forests. However due to security reasons the police have issued a fresh advisory for trekkers. Police said that a safety advisory was issued following an unauthorized trekking incident in the Danwas forest area on December 21. To ensure public safety and prevent security misunderstandings, the following rules are now in effect, they added. "Local residents must seek the requisite permissions from local authorities and inform the local police or administration before entering upper forest reaches. And for non-local tourists entry and trekking in upper forest areas are strictly prohibited under all circumstances. The public should cooperate with these instructions to maintain a secure environment and avoid untoward incidents," the spokesman said....
