Jammu: Hospital authorities check lockers of docs, paramedics
Jammu, Nov. 19 -- Following alleged involvement of Dr Umar ul Nabi and recovery an AK-47 assault rifle from the locker of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather from Qazigund, the hospital authorities across Jammu region has started internal audit of lockers of its doctors and para-medic staff, said officials.
Dr Dara Singh, medical superintendent of Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital at Shalamar Road said, "Though we routinely check lockers of our staff, the process has been intensified in the aftermath of Red Fort blast and Faridabad explosives haul."
"We will not leave any locker unchecked. So far, we have checked 1,300 locker while 200 remains to be checked. Nothing incrimination has been found so far," he said. Dr Virendra Trisal, medical superintendent of the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu city said, "A four member committee has been constituted for the purpose. We will start checking all the lockers of our medicos, nursing staff and others from Wednesday."
