India, July 20 -- Matcha, the green tea from Japan, is the reigning IT drink as it is packed with antioxidants, while giving you a caffeine kick. In fact, the matcha market is expected to reach $6.3 billion by 2032 states a Market Reseach Future Reports. Dr Alok Chopra shared a post on Instagram highlighting the benefits of this drink. The cardiologist wrote how matcha can increase metabolism, help with weight management and detoxify the body, while promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
Calm focus: Matcha has L-theanine, which fuels alertness. "The presence of L-theanine controls the release of caffeine. This can result in a more sustained and stable energy increase without giving you the jitters, often associated with other caffeinated drinks," says dietitian Fiona Sampat.
Fat burn: Matcha can boost your metabolism and cellular energy. The tea's catechins can enhance metabolic rate and increase fat oxidation, a process that involves breaking down fats to produce energy," she says.
Detox support: The tea's chlorophyll helps flush out toxins. The liver plays a central role in flushing out toxins, metabolising drugs, and processing nutrients. Some studies have found that matcha may help protect liver health.
Mood booster: "Caffeine plus L-theanine leads to focused and stress-free energy," writes Dr Alok. This amino acid eases anxiety, stress and reduce insomnia.
