Chandigarh, Dec. 14 -- As moist Mediterranean winds help form clouds that frequently hide the sun, the days are growing colder. Due to the western disturbances, the maximum temperature on Saturday saw a sharp drop of 2.3 degrees in a 24-hour period. In the coming two-three days, the India meteorological department (IMD) has predicted that maximum temperature can decrease further while minimum temperature is expected to remain stable. The minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 8.5, a departure of 0.7 degree from normal. A two-day yellow alert for dense fog has been issued by the IMD for Sunday and Monday in the city. Dense fog at isolated parts of the city will be there. Prevailing foggy conditions will lead to a reduction in the number of sunny days. IMD Chandigarh director Surender Paul said that due to western disturbances, foggy conditions are going to prevail in the coming days. The weather is mostly dry with no rainfall but a dip in temperature will depend on the appearance of western disturbances....
