India, Aug. 9 -- F rom match-winning spells for India to heartwarming Raksha Bandhan rituals in his hometown of Jalandhar, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has always cherished the bond he shares with his five sisters. "I love the occasion," says Harbhajan, adding, "I've been blessed with five sisters, and since childhood, I would ask them to bring big rakhis so that my hand looked full. It was always a special day for me." Raised in a close-knit Punjabi family, Harbhajan credits his sisters' support for much of his success on the field: "Even during my lowest phases, they were the ones who kept me going. Their love gave me strength, especially during major moments like the 2007 T20 and 2011 ODI World Cup wins." His elder sister, Bakshish Kaur, recalls fond memories of pampering their only brother. "He loved having his arms covered with rakhis, so we made sure to get the biggest ones," she laughs and adds, "Even today, we're immensely proud of him." Despite being away for matches, Harbhajan made it a point to tie every rakhi sent to him and send pictures in return. Now a father, he's passing on those traditions to his children. "I want my son to understand that sisters can protect brothers too - just like mine did."...
