Hry's 3-day winter assembly session starts from today
Chandigarh, Dec. 18 -- With the Haryana assembly's winter session commencing on Thursday and the principal opposition party the Congress announcing to corner the government on a slew of hot-button issues, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that the government is ready to hold discussion on every issue and every point.
"Each issue will be answered point-wise, while maintaining constitutional commitment," Saini told reporters after the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
The BAC decided to restrict the Winter Session of the House up to three sittings and adjourn the House on December 22. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by assembly speaker Harvinder Kalyan, during which detailed deliberations were held on the legislative business and agenda of the upcoming session, the spokesperson said.
Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, energy minister Anil Vij, parliamentary affairs minister Mahipal Dhanda, Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal were present at the meeting. Deputy speaker Krishan Lal Middha and MLA Savitri Jindal attended the meeting as special invitees.
The Haryana Council of Ministers on Wednesday accorded approval for the creation of Hansi as a new district, a formal decision taken a day after chief minister Nayab Singh Saini made the announcement to make Hansi 23rd district of the state.
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of chief minister Saini here late on Wednesday evening, decided that the newly proposed Hansi district will comprise 110 villages falling under the Hansi and Narnaund Assembly Constituencies, presently part of Hisar district.
The state re-organisation committee, chaired by development and panchayats minister Krishan Lal Panwar, in its meeting held on December 9, 2025 approved and recommended the creation of district Hansi. The recommendation was thereafter approved by chief minister Saini.
The Hansi district will include two sub-divisions, namely Hansi and Narnaund, carved out of Hisar district.
The proposed district will consist of three tehsils-Hansi, Narnaund and Bass--along with one sub-tehsil, Kheri Jalab. It will also have three Blocks, Hansi-1, Hansi-2 and Narnaund.
The total geographical area of the proposed district Hansi will be approximately 1,34,976 hectares, with an estimated population of about 5,40,994 persons.
Chairing the district public relations and grievance redressal committee meeting in Gurugram, Nayab Singh Saini said that prompt, transparent and sensitive redressal of public complaints is not merely an administrative duty but a moral responsibility that must be accorded top priority.
A total of 16 complaints were taken up during the meeting, of which 12 cases were resolved on the spot. Directions were issued to keep the remaining four matters pending until the next meeting....
