Rohtak, Oct. 18 -- Sonepat police have booked a father-son duo travel agents for allegedly duping a man of Rs.11 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Germany. The police have booked Jatin and his father, Parvinder Singh, under Sections 316 (2) (criminal breach of trust) and 318 (4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Section 24 of the Immigration Act. The complainant, Satish, a native of Panipat and nowliving in Sonepat, told thepolice that he met Jatin in Armenia in 2023, and he told him that he dealt in work and study visas. "Jatin assured me of a work visa in Germany. The deal was fixed at Rs.18 lakh and I gave him Rs.11 lakh in two instalments in February and March last year. Three months later, I neither got a visa nor flight tickets. When I demanded money back, Parminder, a retired army man, threatened me of dire consequences and blocked my contact number," he added. Assistant sub-inspector Surjeet said that he recorded statements of both sides and after proper investigation, it came to light that the father-son duo duped Satish.
