hry: Rs.718-crore contracts, procurement of goods get panels' nod
Chandigarh, June 28 -- Two high-powered purchase panels of Haryana government led by chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday cleared contracts and procurement of various goods worth over Rs.718 crore, an official spokesperson said.
The High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), and High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) held negotiations with various bidders and succeeded in saving over Rs.26 crore by finalising reduced rates during the meeting.
Cabinet ministers Mahipal Dhanda, Vipul Goyal, Shyam Singh Rana, Ranbir Gangwa and Shruti Choudhry were present in the meeting.
The spokesperson said that contracts worth approximately Rs.132 crore were approved for the manufacturing and supply of transmission line towers, substation structures, high tension underground cables, and related components by Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for the financial year 2024-25.
Approval was also granted for strengthening the distribution infrastructure to reduce aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses under the revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS) in the Naraingarh division of Ambala district. The project is estimated to cost about Rs.54 crore.
The panel gave the nod to procure a vaccine to prevent foot-and-mouth and hemorrhagic septicemia diseases in cattle. The total cost of the procurement is estimated over Rs.73 crore. The vaccination is administered twice a year.
Approval was also granted to purchase non-medical equipment worth Rs.27 crore for Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College, Gurugram. Besides, several works were approved....
