Dharamshala, March 21 -- Himachal Pradesh has sealed its borders in pursuance of the government order to ban entry of tourists, foreign and domestic, in the state to prevent spread of coronavirus.

Checkposts have been set up at all the entry points and vehicles are being checked. The people coming from outside the state are being sent back and only Himachal Pradesh residents are being allowed to enter the state.

Security personnel have been told to maintain a register to record details of the residents coming to the state. Thermal screening is also being done.

Despite a strict vigil, a luxury bus ferrying 20 foreign tourists sneaked into the territory of Himachal Pradesh on Friday through an unmanned alternative route.
