How two schoolgirls became a lifeline for Punjab flood victims
India, Oct. 22 -- During the recent floods in Punjab, two girls from Chandigarh rose to the occasion. Eva Jain and Mansimar Kaur from Strawberry Fields High School in Chandigarh undertook relief efforts for people affected by the floods in the region. Due to heavy rains, many lives were disrupted, and thousands of families were left homeless. In response, Eva and Mansimar took the initiative to help the flood victims.
They mobilised other students, parents, and teachers from their school to collect relief material worth about Rs 40 lakh. The relief material included food items, such as 540kg rice, 120kg pulses, 240 packets of biscuits, water bottles, toilet kits, sanitary pads, medicines, household items, mattresses, blankets, and more. This relief material was distributed to needy families through organisations like Global Sikhs, Sewa Punjab, and Global Shapers Society.
