House pays tributes to four Sahibzadas
Chandigarh, Dec. 31 -- The proceedings of the special one-day session started with paying tributes to four Sahibzadas, Mata Gujri and Guru Gobind Singh.
Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan remembered the supreme sacrifice made by Guru Gobind Singh and his Sahibzadas for protecting the Sikh community from the cruelty of Mughal rulers. He said Guru Gobind Singh promoted universal brotherhood, secularism and protected human rights. The unparalleled sacrifice will always be remembered across the globe and remain unmatched in human history.
Chief minister Bhagwant Mann, cabinet minister Aman Arora, AAP MLA Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar, MLA Manwinder Singh Giaspura, BSP MLA Nachhatar Pal, Independent MLA Rana Inder Pratap Singh, SAD MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali and Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh also paid tributes.
The Vidhan Sabha also paid tributes to departed souls who had passed away since the last session of the assembly.
Those who were remembered include former Punjab governor, Punjab and ex-Union minister Shivraj Patil, former minister Jagtar Singh Multani, former state minister Tara Singh Ladal, former MLA Tarlochan Singh Soondh, Bollywood star and former Lok Sabha MP Dharmendra Deol, folk singer Rajvir Singh Jawanda, painter Gobinder Singh Sohal, Punjabi musician and teacher Puran Shah Koti, and Balbir Singh Grewal, father of MLA Daljit Singh Bhola. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of departed souls as a mark of respect during the obituary references....
