Holy Mary's School organises debate competition for students
Banur, Nov. 3 -- Holy Mary's School organised a fiery and thought-provoking debate competition on the topic "Is AI a Boom or a Curse?"
Three students from each house participated, showcasing their confidence, clarity, and analytical thinking.
The event comprised two rounds - a Speech Round, where students presented their views and ideas, and a Rebuttal Round, where they debated for and against the motion. Participants included Harleen Manro (8-B), Karanjot Singh (6-B), and Jobanpreet Singh (6-A) from Teresa House; Komalpreet Kaur (6-D), Yadvi Kaushik (7-D), and Seerat Kaur (8-C) from Gandhi House; Ekampreet Kaur (8-A), Bhawna (8-A), and Krishna Sharma (8-C) from Nehru House; and Gurleen Kaur (6-A), Navjot Kaur (7-D), and Harnoor Kaur (8-B) from Tagore House.
Students were assessed on various criteria such as speech style, clarity, structure of thoughts, teamwork, time management, argument content, evidence, and logic. After an engaging exchange of ideas, Teresa House secured the first position, Gandhi and Nehru Houses shared the second position, and Tagore House stood third.
Principal Shiny Devassy congratulated all the winners and commended the participants for their excellent efforts and insightful perspectives on the role of Artificial Intelligence in today's world....
