Holy Mary's boys clinch triple gold at zonal PSEB tournament
Banur, Sept. 10 -- Holy Mary's School boys achieved a remarkable feat at the Zonal Level Tournament organised by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) for the academic year 2025-2026, securing gold medals in three major events.
The competition, held at Government High Smart School, Karala, saw participation from over 20 institutions, representing both private and government schools.
The school's Under-14 Chess team (boys) emerged as champions after a series of intense matches that tested their focus and strategic thinking. The gold-winning lineup featured Nakul (8-C), Bhavesh (7-A), Ridamjot (6-C), Harsehaj (8-A), and Shanveer (6-C).
Victory followed in the Under-17 Kho Kho category, where the Holy Mary's boys delivered a dominant performance to take home another gold. Team members Lavish Mehta (10-C), Keshav (10-A), Harjot Singh (10-B), Harneet Singh (9-C), and Varanjot (10-B) played with precision and unity.
In the Under-14 Kho Kho event, the younger squad boys of Holy Mary's showed equal grit and teamwork to win gold. The team included Armaan (7-C), Karanveer Singh (7-B), Manjinder Singh (7-D), Naitik Dhiman (8-C), Gurkirat Singh (6-C), Chaheldeep Singh (7-C), Tushaar (7-D), Noorjot Singh (6-A), Anuj Gupta (6-B), Arush Sharma (6-B), and Fateh (6-E).
Shiny Devassy, principal of Holy Mary's School, praised the players for their dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship.
She also appreciated the discipline and spirit they carried throughout the tournament.
