Mohali, April 7 -- A 25-year-old car painter from Panchkula died after a hit-and-run incident near Dhakoli bridge late Friday night, with police alleging that a passerby who initially tried to help later abandoned him on the roadside. The victim was identified as Sourav, who worked at Nada Sahib. Police said as per initial probe, a passerby had lifted the wounded man and taken him to a private hospital. After he was told to take the victim to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, he allegedly left him on the roadside instead of ensuring thelatter received treatment. Hours later, another passerby spotted Sourav lying injured and took him to the Dhakoli civil hospital. He was then referred to the civil hospital in Phase-6, Mohali, where doctors declared him brought dead. A case has been registered under Sections 281 (rash or negligent driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of theBharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. htc...
