Chandigarh, Dec. 18 -- The Punjab and Haryana high court has listed the hearing on the parole plea of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh for Thursday. The Waris Punjab De chief is seeking a parole to attend the ongoing winter session of Parliament. The case was also listed for hearing on Wednesday but was adjourned as lawyers abstained from work. With the session ending on December 19, the strike is set to continue on Thursday as well. The MP had briefly appeared before the court via video conferencing on Wednesday; however, the hearing could not last long due to a poor internet connection. For the Wednesday hearing, he did not appear in person. Amritpal has been under detention at Dibrugarh jail in Assam since his arrest in 2023 under the NSA. Nine of his associates were brought back to Punjab this year.
