Amritsar, July 27 -- Almost three years after the then chief minister Parkash Singh Badal inaugurated the Heritage Street, the 1km stretch from the Town Hall to the entrance plaza of Golden Temple, on October 24, 2016, has since then faced the major issue of water-logging. The much-hyped project had cost the state Rs.160 crore. The street gets water-logged even after a moderate spell of rain and the sewerage system has not been upgraded since the inauguration.

The project was executed to beautify the main path leading to the shrine and to give a uniform heritage look to the facade of shops and buildings located along the stretch, that is frequented by tourists and devotees from around the world.
