Chandigarh, Feb. 14 -- The sale of heritage furniture designed by Pierre Jeanneret, a Swiss architect who had worked with Le Corbusier in UT, is unabated abroad as another auction has been planned for the same in France on March 5.

The last auction was held in New York (USA) in June 2019.

During the event, various items worth Rs.93 lakh are estimated to be auctioned.

Advocate Ajay Jagga, who is a member of the UT heritage protection cell, has written to adviser to take up the matter with the Indian embassy in France through the Centre, asking them to step in and attempt to stall the auction. He has also asked the UT administration to mark a probe on how these "banned items" went beyond the national territory.
