Shimla, Nov. 29 -- Himachal Pradesh high court sought a fresh action plan from the concerned office/corporation for dealing with the rotten apple waste along Parwanoo-Kalka highway. The directions were issued during the resumed hearing of a suo moto public interest litigation (PIL) on the persistent problem of rotten apples, leaking liquid waste and piled-up pomace around Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation's (HPMC) facilities along the Parwanoo-Kalka stretch of the national highway. High Court has sought an affidavit from concerned office/Corporation as to how to tackle the issue of the disposal of the waste of apple - rotten apples, handling apple pomace, and managing wastewater at all notified auction sites-including Tipra (Gumma) on the Parwanoo-Shimla NH-5 Hearing a suo motu PIL on November 25, a division bench of chief justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia and justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj reviewed the latest status reports submitted by the state government and HPMC.
