Chandigarh, May 24 -- The Punjab and Haryana high court has struck down a 2019 notification by the Haryana government that awarded an additional 10 marks to candidates from specific socio-economic backgrounds in state recruitment exams. The court ruled that the criteria
violated Article 16 of the Constitution, which guarantees equal opportunity in public employment.
