However, a dispute arose, and the matter went into arbitration. On January 15, 2022, the arbitral tribunal directed the Jalandhar municipal corporation to pay Rs.204.44 crore and the Moga municipal corporation to pay Rs.92.29 crore, along with accrued interest. The commercial court dismissed their objections in January 2024, and it was against this order that both the municipal corporations had approached the high court. The high court said that there was nothing wrong in the orders passed by the commercial court in staying the execution of the arbitral award subject to condition of deposit of 100% of the award amount in the shape of FDR in the name of the court, a condition both the municipal corporations did not comply with for two years and eventually commercial court dismissed MCs objections in January 2024....
