Jodhpur, April 8 -- The Rajasthan high court on Monday granted bail to self-styled godman Asaram Bapu till July 1 in a 2013 rape case. The relief comes days after the Gujarat HC granted him bail in a separate rape case, paving the way for his release from jail. On January 7, the apex court granted him interim bail in a 2013 rape case filed in Gujarat. In March, the Gujarat HC granted a three month extension starting April 1. Since he had not secured similar relief in the Jodhpur case involving the rape of a minor, Asaram surrendered at Jodhpur Central Jail on April 1.
