Harmanpreet marks World Cup triumph with tattoo
India, Nov. 6 -- India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has commemorated her team's first-ever ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 triumph with a new tattoo revealed on Instagram a day after the victory. The artwork features the World Cup trophy, the year 2025 and the number 52 in dual honour of India's 52-run win in the final against South Africa, and of the 52 years it took for the India's maiden win since the tournament's inception in 1973. Incidentally, her teammates Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol also got similar tattoos on the same day.
We have learnt that the tattoo session at Mumbai's Alien Tattoos began around 2am, a day after the momentous win. Harmanpreet was still watching highlights of the final on her phone while getting inked, riding the emotion of a night that shifted the landscape of women's cricket in India. The tattoo was done by Sunny Bhanushali, who said, "This piece is more than ink. It's a story of victory, resilience, and national pride."
This is not Harmanpreet's first ink. Last year she got a geometric mandala design with Sanskrit phrase Aham Brahmasmi (I am the universe)....
