Hansraj School hosts two-day capacity building programme
Panchkula, Sept. 16 -- Hansraj Public School, Panchkula, hosted a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on English Core for Classes 11 and 12 on September 12 and 13, 2025. The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony.
The sessions were conducted by Jaya Bhardwaj, Principal, Hansraj Public School, and Harsimran Kaur, Principal, The Gurukul, Panchkula.
Both resource persons, eminent educationists, with extensive experience in the field, guided the participants on new pedagogical skills, assessment strategies, teaching of literature, development of LSRW skills, and interactive classroom practices.
The two-day programme included hands-on activities and interactive sessions, enabling teachers to share experiences, clarify doubts, and explore practical approaches to enhance classroom engagement.
Speaking on the occasion, Harsimran Kaur emphasised "English teaching must inspire creativity and critical thinking while strengthening communication skills. Classrooms should be spaces for expression, not rote learning."
In her address, Jaya Bhardwaj, Principal Hansraj Public School and resource person for the programme, said"This CBP has been a valuable platform to rethink how we teach and assess English. Our focus must be on making learning more experiential, ensuring that literature is lived and language is internalised. English classrooms should nurture critical thinking, creativity, and empathy-skills that prepare students for life beyond examinations."
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging CBSE for the initiative and the valuable contribution of the resource persons.
