Kolkata, Nov. 19 -- The Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Tuesday filed a complaint against Trinamool Congress MP and senior advocate Kalyan Banerjee over his "arms in Raj Bhavan" remark against West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose. "Raj Bhavan has filed a complaint against MP Kalyan Banerjee alleging commission of offences punishable under sections 151 (assaulting President, governor), 152 (acts endangering sovereignty unity and integrity of India), 197 (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) , 196(1)(a) and (b) (pertaining to acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 353 (1)(b) and (c) and 353(2) (pertaining to statements conducing to public mischief) of BNS 2023. The maximum punishment for the offences is seven years. The offences are cognizable and non-bailable," a senior Raj Bhavan official said.
