Gurukul Global hosts events to pay tribute to motherhood
Chandigarh, May 26 -- Gurukul Global School, Sector 13, hosted the 'Vidya Parvati Memorial Inter-School Competition', a two-day event held in memory of Vidya Devi Ji and Parvati Setya Ji. Based on the theme 'Maa', the event paid homage to the love, resilience, and guidance that mothers represent. More than 20 schools from across the Tricity region participated.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by VD Singh. Day one featured competitions such as Punjabi self-composed poem recitation, jewellery crafting, fabric painting ,and the womb to world-mother and child duet. Events like 'Step It Up for Your Mom- Dance Battle', 'Maathsbola', and the group song competition added spirit.
Day two welcomed radio personality RJ Meenakshi as the chief guest. Her journey resonated with the students. She spoke about the role of mothers in shaping one's identity and the importance of expressing gratitude. Her charisma connected well with the young audience. RJ Meenakshi, while interacting with the students gave them a useful tip for radio jockeying. She said that it is not important to have good voice quality for being a good RJ, but the vital requirement is having confidence.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognising talent, creativity, and participation. Principal Urvashi Kakkar congratulated all the winners and thanked the participating schools.The seamless execution of the event was made possible by the support and presence of the school's managing committee members.
While Gurukul Global School emerged as the overall winner, the trophy was passed on to DC Montessori School, upholding the true spirit of inclusivity and encouragement....
