Govt to open 14 horticulture science centres across Haryana: Agri minister
Karnal, Jan. 9 -- Haryana agriculture minister Shyam Singh Rana on Thursday said that 14 horticulture science centres will be established at the fruit and vegetable excellence centres across the state. Rana said this in Karnal, while presiding over the first day of a two-day workshop for horticulture officers at the Centre for Soil Salinity Research Institute (CSSRI).
The workshop has been organised by Maharana Pratap Horticulture University and the state's horticulture department in collaboration with Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. At the occasion, Rana said that the farmers of the state are moving towards horticulture crops by adopting crop diversification and the state is producing horticulture crops in an area of about 4.18 lakh hectares.
