Govt grants relief to Sectors 76-80 allottees in Mohali
Mohali, Dec. 31 -- The Punjab government has provided relief worth approximately Rs.200 crore to residents of Sectors 76 to 80 in Mohali by reducing the enhancement amount on residential plots, said MohaliMLA Kulwant Singh during a press conference held at the Aam Aadmi Party office inSector 79.
Singh said that the state cabinet, led by chief minister Bhagwant Mann, approved a reduction in the enhancement rate, which was previously fixed at Rs.3,164 per square metre.
He added that while GMADA had initially proposed reducing the amount to Rs.2,325 per square metre, he revisited the matter with CM Mann.
Consequently, the enhancement amount was further reduced to Rs.2,216 per square metre.
The MLA explained that this decision reduces the financial burden on plot allottees by Rs.948 per square metre compared to the original rate, resulting in an additional Rs.20 crore of relief beyond the earlier proposal.
He said that this issue had remained unresolved for nearly 15 years and that the cabinet's decision brings relief to thousands of allottees....
