Chandigarh, Aug. 25 -- Criticising the decision of the Punjab government to hike bus fare, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday said the fare has been increased due to "mounting pressure of private transport mafia". Party's chief spokesperson for Punjab, MLAs Baljinder Kaur and Rupinder Kaur Ruby, said the Captain Amarinder government had raised the bus fare to indirectly benefit the business of theBadals. "The fare of super integral AC coaches has been raised by 80 to 100 per cent, which will benefit the private operators," the leaders alleged, seeking formation of a high-powered committee of the Punjab assembly to look into the hiked bus fare. The AAP leaders said if the government was really keen to bail out the public transport from losses, they should have prevented Badal buses from plying onprominent and profitable routes.htc...
