Patiala, Sept. 3 -- Patiala remained on alert as Ghaggar touched the danger mark of 16 feet and inundated fields near its banks in as many as 15 villages. The water entered in some villages in Rajpura and Ghanaur blocks, and also a health centre in Saralan Kalan village. The worst-affected villages also include Chamaru, Kami Khurd, Kamli Kalan, Untsar, Jhand Mangoli, Maru, Jalalheri, Harchandpura, and Sirkapda. As per the drainage department, the water level in the Ghaggar remained at the danger level of 16 feet throughout the day. "All arrangements, machinery, EC bags, labour, jumbo bags, earth filling, are in place at all vulnerable points throughout the reach of the Ghaggar River," said Patiala DC Preeti Yadav. Patiala administration has already sounded a flood alert for Mardaheri, Marori, Sapperheri, Rattan Heri, Harchandpura, Badhshapur, Arnetu, Rasoli, Matoli, Teipur, Kangthala, Gurunanakpura, Jogewal, and Gulahr.
