Bengaluru, May 24 -- Four people accused in a gang-rape case, who were out on bail, were arrested on Friday for celebrating their release with a car rally in Haveri district of Karnataka, police said. The incident took place on May 20 but it came to light when the video clippings emerged on social media and were widely shared, prompting the police to take action. Superintendent of police of Haveri district, Anshu Kumar Srivastava, said that a case has been registered against the accused for unlawful assembly and rash driving. "Sameevulla Abdulwahid Lalanavar (28) from Akkiyalur, Mahmadsadiq Babusab Agasimani (30) from Imam Nagar, Shoaib Niyaz Ahmed Mulla alias Shoaib (20) from Hallur Oni, and Riyaz Abdul Rafiq Savikeri (32) from Islampur Oni have been arrested. Three other accused, who also took part in the celebratory procession, are currently absconding. A search operation is underway to trace them," Srivastava said....
