Ganaur ex-councillor arrested from UP
Rohtak, Nov. 13 -- Sonepat police have arrested former vice-chairman of the Ganaur municipal committee Sunil Lambu from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly murdering cricket coach Ram Karan Sharma, the father-in-law of a local councillor, on the night of November 3 in Ganaur.
According to Sonepat DCP (crime) Narender Kadian, the accused fled after shooting Ram Karan near the sub-divisional hospital in Ganaur. The victim was travelling with his wife and daughter-in-law Sonia Sharma, who serves as councillor from Ward No. 12, to attend a wedding when the attack took place.
"He has been remanded in five-day police custody. We are investigating the motive and other aspects of the case," the DCP said. Investigations suggest the accused harboured a grudge against Sharma's family after his wife lost the councillor election to Sonia Sharma, the victim's daughter-in-law....
