Washington, March 20 -- Tulsi Gabbard, the only Hindu to have run for a major political party's presidential nomination, on Thursday ended her long-shot campaign and endorsed former vice president Joe Biden, who is emerging as the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party.

Biden's only serious rival now, Senator Bernie Sanders, remains in the race but appears to be preparing his exit. His campaign has stopped advertising on Facebook and pitching supporters for donations and, the Washington Post reported, has been in talks with the former vice-president's campaign.
