India, Nov. 28 -- Every year brings a new vocabulary of its own. This year's 'Words of the Year' from major dictionaries reveal a world negotiating its relationship with AI, celebrities, and itself.
The Cambridge Dictionary declared 'parasocial' as its Word of the Year. It captures a distinctly modern kind of connection: when you feel close to someone you've never actually met.
6 7 or 'six seven' became Dictionary.com's word of the year. It has become a staple in Gen Alpha slang. Dictionary.com explained that the trend traces back to a song- Doot Doot (6 7) by artist Skrilla, from where it snowballed.
