Hoshiarpur, Oct. 20 -- The Punjab Lit Foundation (PLF), an NGO, has launched its "fertiliser sewa" campaign aimed at providing free fertiliser (DAP) to small and marginal farmers who lost their crops to floods. The distribution process has begun in Rarra, Tahli and Gandhowal in Hoshiarpur district. PLF founder Khushwant Singh said the aim was to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Punjab's farming community. Co-founder Sanna Kaushal said, "Earlier, the PLF provided around 20,000 sanitary pads to the Red Cross in the state." District agriculture development officer Lovejit Singh said the department assisted the PLF in identifying the affected farmers. HTC Former Patiala mayor and BJP leader Sanjeev Sharma (Bittu) on Saturday returned to the Congress fold in the presence of AICC general secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal and AICC general secretary in-charge for Punjab Bhupesh Baghel.
