Former CBI director JS Bawa felicitated on 100th birth anniversary
Chandigarh, March 8 -- JS Bawa, former director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was felicitated as he marked his 100th birth anniversary at an event organised by retired IPS officers from the tricity at the Punjab Police Officers Institute on Friday. Bawa currently serves as the president of the Tricity IPS (retd) Fraternity Group.
Bawa, a 1951 batch officer of the Punjab cadre, served in several key positions during his career and also had the CBI charge for five years. During the event, former Haryana director general of police (DGP) SS Brar and former Punjab DGP DS Mangat honoured Bawa by presenting him with a shawl and bouquet.
Several retired IPS officers attended the programme. Among them were VK Ahluwalia, PC Dogra, Gurbachan Singh Jagat, Rishpal Singh, Dilbagh Singh and Baljit Singh Sandhu.
Bawa's contributions during his service years were hailed. The group, which has over 57 members, was founded in 1986-87 by the IPS officers based in the tricity....
