India, July 18 -- Alchemist Hospital Panchkula has attained a historic milestone by successfully performing the first-ever robot-assisted surgery, says Dr PS Maan, AVP medical operations. The two gall bladder removal surgeries (cholecystectomy) were successfully completed using the Da Vinci Xi surgical robot by Dr Harsh Garg, senior consultant-general, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and Dr Rohit Bansal, consultant-general, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. This breakthrough came soon after Alchemist Hospital introduced North India's most-advanced robotic surgical system, the Da Vinci Xi, reaffirming the hospital's commitment to delivering world-class surgical care, he adds. "This is a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to bring the latest medical advancements to the region. Robotic surgery will greatly benefit our patients and raise the overall standard of healthcare in Panchkula and surrounding areas," Dr Maan further says. Karandeep Singh, chairperson, Alchemist Hospital, said, "We always strive to make every decision while keeping the patient's perspective at the forefront. With the introduction of the Da Vinci Xi robot, we have ensured that world-class healthcare is now accessible to the patients in our network of hospitals."htc...
