Chandigarh, Nov. 19 -- Six accused were produced in the Sector 5 firing case, which is being tried by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in the city. The accused including Gurwinder Singh Laddy, Kashi Singh, Shubham Kumar Giri, Amritpal Singh, Prem Singh, and Gagandeep Singh were produced via video conferencing. On January 19, associates of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar had fired at a businessman residence in Sector 5, with one of the bullets hitting his parked car. Testimony of one protected witness was also recorded on Tuesday. Proceedings have now been adjourned to November 21 for remaining prosecution evidence and to examine two more protected witnesses. The accused will be kept in judicial custody till then. Charges were framed against the accused on October 3 under Sections 120-B, 201, 212, 307, 384, 386, 427 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code; Sections 16, 17, 18, 18-B, 19 and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act; Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act; and Sections 21, 27-A and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act....
