Mohali, Jan. 1 -- Police have booked three persons for allegedly assaulting a woman and her 12-year-old son in Nagla village, Zirakpur. The accused have been identified as Malkit Singh, Labh Singh and Kulwinder, police said. According to the complaint filed by the victim, Kulwinder Kaur, she and her son were walking towards agricultural fields when the incident occurred. She told the police that Malkit allegedly hit her son on the shoulder without any provocation. Shortly after, Labh reached the spot, and the situation escalated into a physical assault. Kulwinder alleged that all three accused started assaulting her. During the attack, one of the accused allegedly attempted to strike her son with a sharp-edged weapon. In an effort to protect her child, Kulwinder intervened and sustained injuries from the weapon. Police said the woman suffered injuries during the incident.
