Mohali, Oct. 18 -- A delegation from Finland, including two academicians and a school health worker, visited government schools in Mohali on Friday to observe education reforms and innovative learning initiatives in the state. Paula Santanen, Riikka Toivonen, and Hanna Heikkila visited the School of Eminence, Phase 11, where they observed classroom activities under the English Helper Programme and interacted with students and teachers. The delegation praised the students' confidence, English-speaking skills, and the progressive learning environment fostered in Punjab's government schools. Accompanied by district education officer (secondary) Ginni Duggal and principal Lovish Chawla, the delegation also participated in a parent-teacher meet where they engaged with parents and students to understand community involvement in education, appreciating transparency encouraged through such interactions. "The integration of technology into classroom learning in Punjab's government schools is exemplary. It enhances engagement while fostering creativity and confidence among students," the delegation said. They also visited the school kitchen to sample the mid-day meal and toured Government Senior Secondary School, Gobindgarh, where they were served lunch prepared by hotel management trade students.
