India, May 21 -- What started as a thrilling, high-stakes match turned into a talking point for all the wrong reasons after a heated exchange between Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) Digvesh Rathi and Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) Abhishek Sharma. The flashpoint came in the eighth over of the SRH innings, when the LSG spinner dismissed the in-form Abhishek, who had just blasted a 20-ball 59, lighting up Lucknow's Ekana Stadium. Digvesh celebrated with his now-controversial notebook gesture, which irked Abhishek. Tempers flared as the SRH opener charged towards the bowler, leading to an on-field confrontation. But the tension didn't end there. The duo exchanged words again during the post-match handshake, prompting LSG coach Vijay Dahiya to step in. Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla was seen playing peacemaker after the game. After the match, memes flooded X and Insta, poking fun at the players.
