Festive rush: 16 special trains to Bihar, Maharashtra from tomorrow
Ferozepur, Oct. 20 -- The Northern Railway has announced that it will operate 16 festival special trains from its Firozpur Division beginning Tuesday to various destinations, keeping in view the rush of passengers during the festival season.
Issuing a statement, authorities said the special trains will operate between Ferozepur and Patna (Bihar), Bathinda and Bandra (Maharashtra) terminus, and from Ludhiana to several destinations in Bihar, including Supaul, Katihar, Kishanganj and Barauni.
The Ferozepur-Patna train will run from October 22 to November 19, offering air-conditioned (AC), sleeper and general coaches. The Ludhiana-Supaul Festival Special will operate on October 22, 23 and 24 with return trips on October 23, 24 and 25, catering mainly to short-distance and rural passengers with unreserved general class coaches.
Additional trains will run from Ludhiana to Katihar (October 22-25) as well as to Barauni and Kishanganj. The Bathinda-Bandra Terminus Festival Special will link Punjab with Maharashtra between October 21 and December 12, operating on select days.
All these trains will make halts at major stations, including Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Hajipur and Patna.
