Chandigarh, Dec. 8 -- Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman for allegedly cheating multiple clients of an immigration company by collecting over Rs.8 lakh on the pretext of providing foreign work visas and issuing fake offer letters. The police have registered an FIR in connection with the case on Saturday at Sector 19 police station after a complaint filed by Navpreet Kaur. The accused have been booked under Sections 318(4), 336(2), 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 24 of the Immigration Act.According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Neha Bhagotra alias Aastha, daughter of Bhushan and resident of Mohali, Punjab, allegedly misappropriated approximately Rs.8,09,000 from clients of the immigration companywhere she was previously employed. She reportedly collected the money into multiple accounts while promising work permits and visa processing, and later handed over fake offer letters to the victims...
