Ferozepur, Nov. 18 -- The Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted several cross-border smuggling attempts across Punjab, recovering 3.1 kg of heroin, a drone, and ammunition in four major operations conducted over the past 24 hours along the Indo-Pak border. A release issued by BSF officials stated that troops in Ferozepur district carried out a meticulously planned search operation in farmland near Jagrawa village, culminating in the seizure of five packets of heroin with a total gross weight of 2.649 kg. In a separate joint operation, acting on BSF-generated intelligence, a combined team of the BSF and Punjab police recovered 50 rounds of 9 mm ammunition from fields near Muthiawala village in Ferozepur. In Amritsar district, troops launched a counter-drone operation following specific intelligence inputs about drone activity. During an intensive search of agricultural fields near Ratan village, they recovered a DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone, suspected to have been used for smuggling contraband from across the border.
