DPS foundation hosts charity fundraiser at Tagore Theatre
Chandigarh, May 6 -- The Sudhir Reema Dewan Foundation (SRDF) hosted its second charity fundraiser at Tagore Theatre, featuring a captivating performance by the iconic rock band Indian Ocean. Indian Ocean, a pioneering Indian fusion band is known for blending rock with Indian classical, folk, and jazz influences.
The foundation's journey is rooted in a deeply personal legacy-Sudhir Dewan, a liver transplant recipient, who devoted 17 years to helping over 250 individuals receive a second chance at life. Inspired by his commitment, SRDF was established in collaboration with the MOHAN Foundation, under the leadership of Reema Dewan and Divya Dewan Mehta to carry forward his mission.
In its inaugural year, SRDF has made significant strides; conducted 206+ organ donation awareness sessions, resulting in over 2500 pledges to the national registry. Educated over 16,000 individuals on the importance of organ donation and extended critical support to underprivileged transplant patients, including access to expensive post-transplant medication.
Through its initiatives, SRDF continues to foster a culture of awareness and action, encouraging communities to think about the need of the hour and support life-saving initiatives such as organ donation.
