Dhaba owner attacked in lalru, rivals booked
Mohali, Dec. 13 -- Lalru police have registered a case after a series of violent attacks involving two neighbouring dhabas left a dhaba owner, his son, and two workers injured on December 4.
The complainant, Ashwani, told police that tensions began when workers of the neighbouring dhaba allegedly broke the side mirror of his son's car. Ashwani alleged that his son was on his way to Chandigarh to get the mirror repaired when he was intercepted by the rival dhaba owner and his workers, who allegedly dragged him aside and beat him up.
Hearing the commotion, Ashwani rushed to the spot to rescue his son, but he too was thrashed by the accused. Both father and son sustained injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital.
The matter escalated further in the evening, when unidentified men arrived at Ashwani's dhaba and targeted his workers. According to the complaint, two employees were beaten, one suffered serious head injuries, while another had his hand fractured in the attack. The attackers fled before police arrived. Following the assaults, Lalru police registered an FIR against the rival dhaba owner and his associates under sections 115(2), 332(c) 190, 191, and 127 of the BNS. Investigations are underway to determine whether the violence stemmed from business rivalry or an earlier dispute between the two establishments....
