Chandigarh, April 16 -- Baisakhi, the most significant traditional harvest festival was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety by the students in DC Montessori Senior Secondary Smart School. The objective of the celebrations was to apprise the children of the rich culture and heritage of India. The celebration commenced with a special morning assembly by the senior students. Students sang the school prayer which was followed by short speeches by students on the importance of Baisakhi highlighting its significance as a day of gratitude to the divine and to nature for a prosperous harvest. The captivating dance performance by the students of Class 10 reverberated the entire premises with the religious and cultural aspect of the harvesting festival. The students in kindergarten dressed up themselves in colourful Punjabi attire. They not only participated in interesting and engaging activities but also expressed their elation by dancing on bhangra and folk songs. Students also enjoyed traditional food together in school that added to the festive vibe. The celebration culminated with an applause of the creative work of the kids by honourable principal of the school Vishali Kaushal.
