BATHINDA, July 12 -- The members of the Insaf morcha committee staged a protest at Goniana in Bathinda district against the police inaction in the alleged custodial death of Narinderdeep Singh in May this year. Six persons, including four police personnel, were named as accused in the case, but none of them have been arrested yet. Insaf morcha leader Navdeep Singh said: "The role of crime investigation agency (CIA-2) of Bathinda police came under scanner after four personnel, namely assistant sub-inspector Avtar Singh, head constable Harwinder Singh and senior constables Lakhwinder Singh and Gurpal Singh, were booked. The four were suspended by the Bathinda SSP on May 26, but they are yet to be arrested," he said. The protesters, including the widow of Narinderdeep and other family members, gathered at a dharamshala in Goniana and held a protest morcha in the evening. htc...
